Updated: Oct 18, 2021

The Hague is a family-friendly city that the kids will love to explore just as much as you do. While there are countless museums and cultural experiences you can bring them to, we’ve created this guide with child-specific activities and kid-friendly restaurants that you can seek out and add to your itinerary.

So whether you're looking for an outdoor playground to bring the kids to while you sip your morning coffee, or you want to ensure you go to a family friendly restaurant, we've got your back.

But, we hope that whatever you plan, you start your day right here at Huize Copes. With two bedrooms and baths as well as a central location, our Airbnb apartment in The Hague is the perfect jumping-off point for exploring our city with the kids in tow.

De Waterkant

At De Waterkant you can picnic, enjoy lunch or drink out on the terrace next to the water. We always tell families to rent the boats or try stand-up paddleboarding here, as the water is quiet and the kids always have fun. Other good kid activities here include the floating boat which they can bring back and forward from one side to the other.

Boomhuttenclub

Address: boekhorststraat 47

Distance from Huize Copes: 2KM

Translated to ‘Treehouse’ this eatery and indoor treehouse playscape is the perfect place to grab a bite and keep the kids occupied for a few hours. While you sit and enjoy lunch or an appertivo, the kids can climb the treehouse and play with the other kids.

Scheveningen Beach

Our famous beach here in The Hague, here you’ll find most beach clubs on the ‘Zwarte Pad,’ like Barbarossa Beach club and Culpepper. Both have nice play areas in the sand that the kids will love to run around in. We particularly love the Sunday brunch at Barbarossa Beach Club which offers a kids club from 10.00 to 12.30. Be sure to make reservations upfront so you aren't disappointed when you arrive and it is fully booked.
